Founded in 2006 by veteran cat rescue team leader, Theresa Foley, the Key West Cat Society is dedicated to changing our nation's approach to the problem of too many homeless cats. This blog is a forum for those among us who love, protect and advocate for the loving, beautiful, magical, innocent cats.
These statistics are from the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy Shelter Statistics Survey, 1994-97. It surveyed roughly 5,000 shelters annually for four years, receiving responses from about 1,000. Although dated, it remains the most comprehensive and rigorous study that exists. More recent, less complete studies reflect the same trends—for instance, the 2006 National Animal Control Association Statistical Survey showed that 66% of cats were killed.
Hi. I'm their foster mom. These little boy kitties are out-of-this-world cute. They are playful, loving, friendly and well-behaved. They were born indoors and are ready for adoption.
